HUNTINGTON -- St. Mary's Regional Cancer Center has organized a unique event as part of this year's American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Huntington.

Several physicians have agreed to display their dancing skills to help raise money.

This year's Relay for Life will be Friday, May 16, at the Huntington High School track and field area. "The Doctor's Ball" will begin at 7:45 p.m. behind the St. Mary's Regional Cancer Center tent.

The event will incorporate elements from two of the most popular shows on television, with a dancing display similar to "Dancing with the Stars" and local celebrity judges who may resemble Paula, Randy and Simon from "American Idol."

The real stars of the show will be the cancer survivors, who will get a free dance with the physician of their choice. Everyone else will have to contribute a dollar to dance with their favorite doctor.

More information is available by calling Paula Peatross at 304-526-4906.
