ASHLAND -- Local Emergency Medical Services professionals and first responders will be honored by King's Daughters Medical Center on Tuesday, May 20, at a picnic event at the Ashland Central Fire Station to celebrate National EMS Week.
The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. EMS personnel are invited to stop by to enjoy food and fellowship.
The 35th annual EMS Week is celebrated throughout the nation May 18 through 24. The week honors the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services on the medical front line.
The 2008 theme of National EMS Week is "Your Life Is Our Mission," a recognition of the commitment that emergency medical personnel make to the communities they serve.
