HUNTINGTON -- Quota International of Huntington is celebrating the month of May as Better Speech and Hearing Month.

On May 6, the Quota Club celebrated at the Huntington Museum of Art by recognizing several children for their successes in a hearing- and language-based world. They were honored for bridging the gap between oral and sign language, overcoming obstacles, and maintaining positive attitudes.

Those honored were kindergartner Serena Satterfield, elementary school student Barandon Warner, Tanner Lee Kisor, Erin Elswick, and Cody Strom.

Quota International of Huntington also honored local community member Ellen Love for raising awareness of communication difficulties.

Quota International, founded in 1919, is an international service organization that links members of all ages, occupations, and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship.
