Pittsburgh bar co-owned by Steelers’ Ward to be auctioned
PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh sports bar co-owned by Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward is to be auctioned this month in federal bankruptcy court.
The Locker Room Bar & Grille will go on the block on May 23.
An attorney for the bar says Hines will buy it for $900,000 if no one bids more than $920,000. The lawyer says Ward’s bid is an opportunity for others to bid for a business in a prime location on the city’s South Side.
The legal battle over the bar’s finances began in September when a co-owner filed a lawsuit accusing Ward and a third owner of draining accounts. Ward and the third owner denied any wrongdoing.
U.S. Bankruptcy Court has assumed jurisdiction over the case.
