LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Derby champion Big Brown is rested and ready as he preps to head to Maryland for the Preakness.

Big Brown galloped one final time around the track at Churchill Downs on Wednesday. He’s scheduled to fly to Maryland later Wednesday afternoon in preparation for the second leg of racing’s Triple Crown.

Trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. says he couldn’t ask for more from his horse in the 11 days following his Derby win despite poor weather in Louisville that only allowed Big Brown to gallop three times since the Derby.

Dutrow isn’t concerned about the post draw for the Preakness field, saying it couldn’t be worse than starting on the far outside post as Big Brown did in the Derby.
