HUNTINGTON -- The City of Huntington Foundation is seeking nominations for the Greater Huntington Wall of Fame.
The Wall of Fame, located in the lobby of the Big Sandy Superstore Arena, recognizes citizens for their achievements by placing a plaque with their pictures and a brief description of their accomplishments on a wall.
The Wall of Fame now has 89 members. Among past inductees are Soupy Sales, Dagmar and Bobby Pruett.
To be considered for the award, one must have been born in Huntington or lived in the city for at least 10 years, performed a service that has benefited the entire community and/or achieved national recognition in his or her chosen field.
The deadline for nominations is June 30. Nominees will be announced in August, and an induction ceremony will be conducted in October.
Nominations, which require a brief description of the nominee's accomplishments, can be mailed to City of Huntington Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 1659, Huntington, WV 25717-1659 or dropped off at the foundation's office located on the second floor of City Hall.
