The Cabell County Board of Education voted this afternoon to offer Marshall University $1.8 million for the University Heights Apartments property. The vote came hours after a public hearing held in the Alumni Lounge in the Memorial Student Center, where Superintendent William Smith, Prestera Center executive director Bob Hansen and many Prestera clients and supporters spoke.

Police conducting DUI checks this weekend

HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Police Department will be conducting DUI patrols citywide from 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15, until 3 a.m. Friday, May 16.

The patrols are an effort to curb alcohol related crashes and incidents during the Memorial Day holiday.
