HUNTINGTON – Marshall University head football Coach Mark Snyder will be the first speaker in a new series of speaking engagements titled “Voices of Leadership,” sponsored by Leadership Tri-State.

Snyder will speak today, Aug. 8, in the Big Green Room at Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards Stadium. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and appetizers. The event is sponsored by American Electric Power, Community Trust Bank, Eagle Distributing and Pepsi.

In this series, leaders from all walks of life will give presentations on their leadership tactics and what traits they find work best for being an effective leader.

“We are extremely excited about this event,” said Tyson Compton, current chairman of Leadership Tri-State. “We couldn’t ask for a better way to begin than having Coach Snyder open our new series. He exemplifies a great leader in every aspect. And we really appreciate him taking the time to share some of his leadership methods with the community.”

The event is open to the public. Those attending are welcome to come early and watch the team as it finishes practice for the day. Attendees also will have the opportunity to touch the turf and check out the view from a sky box.

Admission is $15 in advance or at the door. Reservations are preferred. For more information on this event, call Sharon Walker, Leadership Tri-State executive director, at 606-324-1787.
