Three arrested in Huntington drug raid
HUNTINGTON — A drug raid along 19th Street resulted in drug charges against two women and one man, according to criminal complaints filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court.
Those facing felony allegations are Donta Dejuan Brooks, 27, and Alexandria Victoria Butler, 25. A second woman was charged with two misdemeanor drug charges. All three were incarcerated early Wednesday morning at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville.
Brooks’ criminal complaints state authorities were executing a search warrant at an apartment in the 200 block of 19th Street. They found more than $8,000 cash, crack cocaine and OxyContin pills. Brooks was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Authorities arrested Butler and another woman in the 1100 block of 4th Avenue. Officers stopped Butler’s rental vehicle after suspicious activity near the 19th Street raid. They found about 38 grams of crack cocaine, a small baggie of marijuana and Xanax pills.
Butler was charged with one count possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The documents linked her to the crack cocaine.
The other woman was riding in Butler’s vehicle. The criminal complaints charge her with possessing the marijuana and Xanax. The marijuana was found in the woman’s pocket, while the medication was located in her bra.
Members of the Huntington Police Department conducted the raid, arrested each of the suspects and booked them into the jail. The department’s drug unit have not return telephone calls seeking comment.
The suspects were arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
