September 08, 2008 @ 09:34 AM

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Thomas Memorial Hospital will host the AARP’s Mature Drivers Course this month. The course will be taught between noon and 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 and 18 at the hospital’s Medical Office Pavilion in South Charleston, W.Va.

This class is a refresher course for motorists age 50 or older.  It covers rules of the road, defensive driving tips and ways to compensate for the normal physical changes as aging occurs. Participants do not have to be a member of AARP to participate.

The course will be conducted in two, half-day sessions.  Students must attend both days of class in order to receive a certificate.  No written test is required.  Some insurance companies offer discounts to participants upon completion of this course.

Participants must present a valid driver’s license in the class.  The fee for both days is $10 per person.  Checks should be made payable to “AARP”.  Class size is limited to 25 people.
Space is limited. Call 304-766-3707 for reservations.
