HUNTINGTON -- The Enable Project, which helps enhance the relationship between disabled clients and the agencies that help them, has changed the details of its event tonight.
The event, as part of this week's Hillbilly Hot Dogs fundraiser, will be from 9 p.m. to close at Pecker's, located at 1415 4th Ave. below the Upper Classman Apartment Resort.
Live bands include The Buttonflies and This Level is Clouds. The owner also told Enable Project founder Chris Worth that a dollar from every beer purchase will go back to the organization.
The Hillbilly Hot Dogs fundraiser, which involved a new hot dog called the Guide Dog, continues through the end of the day Saturday at both the Huntington and Lesage locations. The dog is $2.50 and is topped with nacho cheese, chili sauce, mustard, onions and slaw.
Since April, the Enable Project has brought on about 15 people to its advisory board and generated interest from throughout the Tri-State. Worth said the group has expanded into Ohio, and proceeds from the Guide Dog sales will help fund a position in Charleston. The organization also has started collaborating with Mountain State Centers for Independent Living.
