U.S. Airways Magazine to highlight W.Va.
U.S. Airways Magazine will profile West Virginia in its November 2008 edition.
The article will be 20-24 pages and showcase the state’s emerging technologies, energy solutions, key industries, academic institutions and health-care advances, according to a release from the West Virginia Department of Commerce. The in-flight magazine reaches more 6.8 million business and leisure travelers in 32 countries, the release said.
Carsten Morgan, northeast regional sales director for Pace Airline Media, said West Virginia was selected as a result of common misconceptions associated with the state.
“The reality of economic development initiatives and the diversity of the current key industrial/commercial sector are far more interesting than the perception,” Morgan said. “This is an untold story that truly is enlightening to our affluent and influential audience.”
Morgan added that featuring West Virginia in its business series makes sense because U.S. Airways is the leading airline in West Virginia, with 37.4 percent market share of airline traffic.
