Lutheran pastors visiting Huntington to make plea for world hunger
HUNTINGTON -- Three West Virginia Lutheran pastors traveling through the Maryland and the Mountain State will be in Huntington at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The pastors, who call themselves “Tour de Revs,” are riding through state on a bicycle built for three and made of bamboo. Pastors Ron Schlak, Fred Soltow and David Twedt are spreading the word about world hunger, hoping to make up a $5 million deficit of a $25 million pledge made seen years ago by Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
The pastors will arrive and enjoy dinner with the congregation, then lead a service about hunger.
The church is located at 721 12th Ave., Huntington. More information is available at www.tourderevs.org.
