Capito’s mobile office coming to Putnam

July 03, 2008 @ 01:07 PM

WINFIELD, W.Va. — Putnam County residents with questions about current events, or those who want to share ideas or concerns, are invited to step into Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito’s mobile office from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 14 at the John Henson Senior Center on Putnam Avenue in Hurricane.

Chuck Flannery, mobile office field representative, was present Tuesday at the Putnam County Courthouse to meet with community members and hear what was on their minds.

Flannery explained that different venues foster different discussions, with topics that range from the anticipated transfer to digital television to stimulus check questions — two big issues currently on the minds of seniors, he said.

With an office in Charleston and one in the panhandle, the mobile office concept allows for concerns from all localities to be heard as Flannery and other Capito staffers maintain a daily schedule that takes them to venues throughout the state.

This mobile office is a free event open to the public, and reservations are not required to participate.
