Camden Park preparing special event
Camden Park is rocking and rolling to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Big Dipper.
The Anniversary Celebration is July 18, when the world famous Coasters take the stage to perform the music of the era when the Big Dipper was built. Two shows are planned at 7 and 8:30 p.m. in the Mound Builder Pavilion. A fireworks show will follow at 10 p.m.
The Coasters are best known for their first hit “Down in Mexico.” Other hits include “Young Blood,” “Searchin,” Yakety Yak,” “Charlie Brown,” “Poison Ivy,” “Little Egypt,” “Love Potion Number 9,” and “Baby That’s Rock and Roll.” The Coasters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
