COLUMBUS, Ohio — Postal officials say a Columbus postal carrier who says he was robbed and beaten by a half-dozen teenagers as he walked his route is recovering from a fractured cheek and cuts and bruises.
Forty-four-year-old Greg Nelson says he was on his regular delivery route on the city’s east side when a teenager struck him two or three times in the head. He says he tried to run away, but the teens pinned him down and kicked and hit him.
On Friday, police issued a warrant for 15-yaer-old Haisson Kadeem Woody in connection with the attack. Nelson says some of his assailants wore red pants and white T-shirts.
Post office spokeswoman Kathy Lucas says Nelson will remain off the job until next week. She says no mail was taken during the attack.
