HUNTINGTON — On the eve of the West Virginia primary, a national bus tour aimed at mobilizing voters around the need for comprehensive health care reform will stop in Huntington to hear from area residents struggling to afford health care.

The Road to American Health Care bus tour is traveling across the country on its way to the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, stopping in communities large and small to highlight the real people who are being hurt by the health care crisis. With 47 million Americans unable to afford coverage – including 300,000 in West Virginia – Monday's event seeks to make health care a central topic in this year's election.

The bus will stop at 11 a.m. at Harris Riverfront Park. In case of inclement weather, the event will be at SEIU, 2200 Adams Ave., in Huntington.

The tour is being organized by SEIU, the largest union of health care workers in North America, as part of a sweeping campaign to elect a new President and Congress committed to fixing health care - and then make sure those newly elected leaders immediately pass comprehensive legislation that makes quality health care affordable for everyone.
