CHARLESTON — The American Red Cross is celebrating its star supporters.
Individuals, businesses and organizations from 20 counties throughout the 100-county Greater Alleghenies Region, were honored May 8 at the region’s annual meeting.
The Greater Alleghenies Region’s annual meeting was held at the University of Charleston.
Awards included:
Blood Drive Coordinator:
Vena Davis, Louisa, Ky.
Community Partnership Award:
Arby’s of Charleston and Huntington
High School of the Year Award, Small High School, under 400 enrollment:
Clay High School, Portsmouth, Ohio
Hospital of the Year Award:
Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio
Volunteer Coordinator Award:
Jackie Childers, Scott Depot, W. Va.
Recipients of the above awards were selected by a group of Red Cross volunteers and staff members, and represent the highest quality of service to the Red Cross and hospital patients.
This year’s honorees are from or headquartered in the following counties:
Kentucky: Lawrence County.
Ohio: Belmont, Gallia, Jefferson, Pike, Scioto, and Washington counties.
West Virginia: Berkeley, Cabell, Kanawha, Monongalia, Ohio, Putnam, and Wood counties.
