CHARLESTON — Spring is here. Do you know where your water meter is?
As the weather warms up and you begin sprucing up your yard, remember to keep your water meter free of mulch. West Virginia American Water meter readers make their rounds each month, and as the weather gets warmer, meters get harder to find.
While some meters are located on streets and sidewalks, many are in customers’ yards, making landscaping a bit tricky. With customer cooperation, spring and summer meter reading will be a breeze.
If your water meter is in an area where you like to landscape with mulch and other material, simply leave the meter lid area free of landscaping material to avoid disturbance of your beautification project. West Virginia American Water meter readers take pride in being able to read each meter every month, and with your cooperation, they can continue to give an actual read with every visit.
