The Cabell County Board of Education voted this afternoon to offer Marshall University $1.8 million for the University Heights Apartments property. The vote came hours after a public hearing held in the Alumni Lounge in the Memorial Student Center, where Superintendent William Smith, Prestera Center executive director Bob Hansen and many Prestera clients and supporters spoke.

Events to raise money for Ronald McDonald house

HUNTINGTON — Reservations for the third annual Fifth Third Bank Ronald McDonald House Charities Open Golf Tournament and the Growing with Love Dinner, Dance and Auction are now being accepted.  


The “Growing with Love” event will be hosted from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Bellefonte Country Club. The event will be followed by the Charities Open Golf Tournament at noon Monday, June 2, at the same venue.


Proceeds from both events directly benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Tri-State, an organization that has served as a home away from home for more than 8,300 families of critically ill children across southern West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southeastern Ohio for the last 20 years.


Growing with Love Dinner, Dance and Auction tickets will be sold at $100 each and golf registration packages at $300 per golfer or $1,000 per foursome.
