Look out for chance of showers, thunderstorms today

HUNTINGTON -- A chance of showers and thunderstorms were are in the forecast for much of Sunday in the Tri-State with a high temperature near 70.

Tonight, there is a slight chance of showers before 8 p.m. with an overnight low around 42. 

Here's a look at the week ahead:

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. West wind between 3 and 10 mph.

Monday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 48. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: A chance of showers, mainly before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers before 8pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and 9pm, then a slight chance of showers between 9pm and 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Thursday: A chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 73. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
