Waves of Fun schedule released

HURRICANE, W.Va. — Putnam County Parks and Recreation announces the Waves of Fun schedule and a special event planned for the water park attraction located off of Great Teays Road.

The pool will open Saturday, May 24, with operating hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. Sundays.

Starting Aug. 1, hours will change to 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. The pool’s season will end Sept. 1.

Special discount rates are available now through May 27.

On June 27, a Dive-in Movie event will be held at the pool starting at 8 p.m. Swimming will be offered until dark with the movie “Finding Nemo” as the feature. Admission is $5, a charge used to cover the cost of lifeguards. This same event will take place at the County Pool in Eleanor at 8 p.m. June 28 with admission costing $3.
