H-D to unveil redesigned Web site

September 16, 2008 @ 12:00 AM

Herald-Dispatch.com will unveil a new design this afternoon. It's cleaner, easier to navigate and offers some new features.

Users will find most of the features and functions they are used to, although they won't always be in the same places. First and foremost, the new site puts more stories of reader interest front-and-center, with an emphasis on breaking news.

Don't like to mix news with your sports? Our new design breaks the news and sports updates back into their own tabs.

Things to do in the Tri-State is always a popular topic for readers. In the upper-right corner of the site, you can find our expansive event calendar with news, entertainment and sports items. An improved movie guide lets you choose by genre or title and then gives you showtimes at area theaters. If you're looking for lunch, check out the dining database of Tri-State restaurants.

Videos and photo galleries, a reader favorite, will get more visibility on the home page.

On story pages, you can view lists of the most popular and most commented-on stories on the site.

Take a minute to browse through our new site. Please send feedback to Online Editor Andrea Copley-Smith at acopley@herald-dispatch.com.
