Residents voice concerns over The Healing Place

Analysts at a state-of-the-art crime laboratory, which focuses on hair and bones, are conducting crucial tests in the unsolved killing of Leah Hickman. Analysts at the mitochondrial DNA laboratory in Phoenix are examining what little evidence was left behind in her Christmastime disappearance and death. Hickman was a 21-year-old student at Marshall University.
Too many missing out on stimulus checks, senator says
U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller encouraged Wayne County seniors on Tuesday to tell their friends about money that could help them pay the bills and buy groceries. More than 70 people showed up to the Westmoreland Senior Nutrition Center on Hughes Street to hear the senator speak about economic stimulus checks issued by the government this spring and summer.

Officials plan trip to removable floodwall
City officials are planning a trip to Louisville, Ky., this week to see if a "removable floodwall" like the one there could help open up Harris Riverfront Park to downtown Huntington. Scheduled to make the trip are Huntington Mayor David Felinton; Bill Toney, executive director of the Huntington Municipal Development Authority; and Charles Holley, the city's director of development and planning.
