May Mills Dawson and Thomas Hunt Reid were married Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church in Greenville, S.C. The Reverend Jerry E. Temple officiated the ceremony and The Reverend Sally Fowler Parrott, friend of the bride's family, assisted. A reception followed at the Upcountry History Museum.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hood Dawson, Jr., of Huntington, W.Va. She is a graduate of Wofford College. The groom is the son of Mrs. Thomas Preston Reid of Greenville and the late Mr. Reid. A graduate of The Citadel and the Charleston School of Law, the groom is employed by Fayssoux Law Firm, P.A., Greenville, S.C.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Matrons of honor were Mrs. Pryor Dawson Rayburn, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Ellen Daniel Stevens. Bridesmaids were Dr. Anna Hicklin Benson, Miss Elizabeth Kearny Davis, and Mrs. Marshall Coleman Newton. Honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. Casey Gallagher Reid and Mrs. Kara McBride Reid, sister-in-laws of the groom, and Miss Bailey Alexandra McWatters. Caroline Garland Castle and Kathryn Marion Castle, both cousins of the bride, were readers.

Best man was the groom's brother, Mr. Jacob Preston Reid. Groomsmen were Mr. Edward Hood Dawson, III, brother of the bride, Mr. Bennett Bartles Reid, Mr. Patrick John Reid, and Mr. William Kelsey Reid, all brothers of the groom. Ushers were Mr. Constantine Sotiros Christophillis, III, Mr. Robert Boggs Howard, Mr. Bradley Mixon Lucas, Dr. Joseph Gramling Praytor, and Mr. Austin Michael Smith.

After a honeymoon trip to San Francisco and Sonoma, the couple will reside in Greenville.
