Steven C. Poe of Columbus, Ohio, and Nancy Hensley Poe of Huntington, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Chelsea Catherine Poe, to Zachary Hayes Goad, son of Jeffrey and Jamie Goad of Barboursville, W.Va. The couple was married in an outdoor ceremony on June 8, 2013, at Maylon House in Milton, W.Va. The bride was given in marriage by her father and united in marriage by her uncle, Alan K. Poe of Charleston, S.C. Music was provided by guitarist, J.C. Harless, and violinist, Angela Scoulas, with vocals by Nicole Kinzel, friend of the bride.
The bride’s grandparents are the late Gordon and Phyllis Hensley, Conna M. Poe of St. Albans, W.Va., and the late Rev. James K. Poe. The groom’s grandparents are Patricia Goad of Huntington, and the late Billy D. Goad and the late Nick and Ruth Cary.
Attending the bride was Matron of Honor Rachel Ramsby, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alison Tatum and Lauren Poe, sisters of the bride, and Christina Hamer, Lauren Thompson, Krista Charles, Nicole Kinzel, Natalie Keaton, all friends of the bride. Alexandria Dawson, cousin of the bride, was Junior Bridesmaid. Marley Poe-McComas and Hensley Reece Tatum, both nieces of the bride, were flower girls. Best Man was Korey Goad, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Seth Hunt, cousin of the groom, Seth Frye, Drake Kinzel, Ryan Ramsby, Chris Bowers, Rusty Ross and Ernst Van Den Berg, friends of the groom. Ring bearers were Jaxson and Jett Tatum, both nephews of the bride.
The wedding rehearsal dinner and the cocktail hour were celebrated at Pip’s Patio and Juke’s Tavern located on the grounds of Maylon House and named in memory of the bride’s late grandparents, Phyllis and Gordon Hensley. Following the cocktail hour, dinner and dancing took place in the Grand Ballroom of Maylon House. Wedding coordinator was Nancy Turner of Atlanta, Ga. Programs were distributed by Jasmyn Jordan, friend of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Cabell Midland High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She is a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Medical Center. The groom graduated from Cabell Midland High School and Marshall University with a degree in Education. He is employed by State Electric of Huntington.
Chelsea and Zachary honeymooned on the island of Jamaica. They have made their home in Barboursville.
