Paul and Blanche Hite celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Sept. 4.
Paul, a B-17 bomber pilot during World War II, retired as a Major in the United States Air Force. He also owned and operated Hite's Shoe Shop on 10th Street.
Blanche retired after a successful career in real estate.
They both grew up in Huntington and graduated from Huntington High School.
They have a daughter, Margret Breaux; two grandchildren, Scott Straub and Shelley Shell; and four great-grandchildren, Blake Shell, Joey Shell, Jacob Straub and Trey Straub.
When asked the key to a successful marriage, Paul said, "Kissing don't last but cooking do." Their children believe it's unconditional love, and they are all looking forward to the next celebration.
