Jerry and Rhonda Smalley are celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary. They were married February 25, 1978, at Ninth Avenue Methodist Church in Huntington, by Rev. J. Irvin Conner.
The Smalleys are both veteran Cabell County educators and graduates of Marshall University. Rhonda retired in 2011 after 40 years as a secondary band director, with 17 of those years at Cabell Midland High School. She is currently a part-time faculty member at Marshall University, where she supervises instrumental music student teachers.
Jerry is currently a physical education teacher and assistant boys track coach at Cabell Midland High School. His career includes over 30 years of coaching football, basketball and track in Cabell County schools.
The Smalleys enjoy attending sports events, especially Marshall University and Ohio State University football games. They love to travel and are avid cruisers. They will take a celebration Caribbean cruise in June aboard Oasis of the Seas.
The Smalleys have two sons, Jason (RaShawna) of Huntington and Jerod of Columbus, Ohio. They are grandparents of Chloe MiKayla Smalley of Huntington, Brady Heath Smalley and Tyler Wade Smalley of Columbus.
