Kandace Leigh-Ann Kirby and Brian Kress Duggan were married Sept. 28, 2013, at Soaring Eagle Lodge, Snowshoe, W.Va. Reverend Randall Flanagan of Charleston, W.Va., and Deacon Raymond Godwin of Elkins, W.Va., officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Kirby of Hurricane, W.Va. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Duggan of Parkersburg, W.Va.
The wedding was held on the terrace at Soaring Eagle Lodge, which provided breathtaking views of the beautiful Allegheny Mountains on a warm, sunny, autumn afternoon.
Music was performed by a string trio, conducted by Matthew Hale. The bridal party entered the ceremony to "A Thousand Years." The bride was escorted by her father to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes." The recessional, "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall," was also performed by the string trio with keyboards by Matthew Hale.
Patrick Klesel and Jim McLean of Parkersburg, W.Va., were Brian's best men. Groomsmen were Jon Duggan, Bernie Layne, Kevin Godfrey, Nick McCarty and Tony DeRose. Harrison Duggan was ring bearer. They wore tan tuxedos with boutonnieres of succulents and gold feathers.
Katelyn Kirby, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Whitney Williams was matron of honor. Kandace's bridesmaids were Melissa Layne, Brooke Dudley, Heather Wilson, Haley Wingrove, Christin Parsons, Cienna Van Dyke, Marcie Williamson, Arica Montgomery, Rachel Kemper and Megan Joseph. Mackenzie Layne was junior bridesmaid. Emma Dudley was flower girl. They wore pale pink long chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of succulents, pale pink and white roses and gold feathers.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a white gown with a sweetheart neckline, tight bodice, and intricate accents on her sash, jewelry and hair accessories. She carried a bouquet of succulents, pale pink and white roses, gold feathers and pale pink ribbon.
A dinner and reception were held on the upper terrace of and in the Hearth Room at Soaring Eagle Lodge overlooking the colorful Allegheny Mountains. The dinner and reception were catered by South Mountain Grille.
Music for the reception was provided by The John Winntet of Richmond, Va.
After their honeymoon to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., and Key West, Fla., Kandace and Brian reside in Scott Depot, W.Va.
Kandace is a Pre-K teacher for Putnam County Schools, and Brian is a sales representative for the NJM Agency of Scott Depot, W.Va.
