Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Varney announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Larry Eric Hie Carter and Wendi Nicole Varney.

Wendi is a 2006 graduate of Cabell Midland High School and currently attends Marshall University where she is pursuing a degree in Speech Language Pathology.

Eric is a 2002 graduate of Spring Valley High School and a 2006 graduate of Marshall University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He currently attends the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.Va., and will begin medical rotations this summer.

The couple will exchange vows 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Williamson, W.Va. The gracious custom of open church will be observed.
