Christine Marie Estler, daughter of Paul and Nancy Estler of Huntington, and Joseph Adam Higgins, son of Tim and Julia Higgins of Simpsonville, Ky., were married Sept. 15, 2012. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Jackson Haga in the Historic Church in Winchester, Ky.

Christine was escorted by her father. Christine's sister, Katie Horney, was her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christine's friend Whitney Finley and sister of the groom, Allison Thurman. The best man was Nick Beckham, and the groomsmen were Craig Boughey and Matt Stine, friends of the groom.

Christine's bouquet featured her great-grandmother's brooch. She wore her mother's ring and carried her grandmother's handkerchief and Joe's grandmother's cross.

The reception was held at the Winchester Opera House and featured family wedding photos dating back to 1918.

Christine graduated from Huntington High in 2004 and Eastern Kentucky University in 2008. The couple met in graduate school at the University of Kentucky, where they both studied Dietetics Administration. Joe graduated from St. Xavier High in 2004 and UK in 2008. They live and work in Lexington.

Christine and Joe will be in Huntington on Saturday, Nov. 10. Friends are welcome to greet them in the Fellowship Hall of Highlawn Presbyterian Church between 2 and 4 p.m.
