Healthy classes, screenings set for this week

HUNTINGTON -- A number of health-conscious classes, programs and screenings are scheduled in the Tri-State this week. Some of the activities offered in the area:

Alzheimer's Support Group, 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cabell Huntington Hospital, 1340 Hal Greer Blvd., Huntington. Monthly support group for anyone affected by Alzheimer's as a patient, caregiver or family member. For more details, call 304-526-2695.

Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group, 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Bellefonte Centre, 1000 Ashland Drive, Russell, Ky. Group is free and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 606-833-CARE.

Crohn's and Colitis Support Group, 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, King's Daughters Medical Center, Health Education Center, 2201 Lexington Ave., Ashland. A free, informal group with presentations, printed information, diets and recipes and more. Meetings are for patients and their families affected with these diseases. Mobile Mammography -- Ashland, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20, Bellefonte Primary Care, Carter Avenue, Ashland. To schedule an appointment for a screening mammogram with the OLBH Mobile Mammography Unit, call 606-836-PINK.

Look Good, Feel Better Support Group, 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20, King's Daughters Medical Center, Center for Advanced Imaging, 2225 Central Ave., Ashland. This free program teaches female cancer patients beauty and skin care techniques to restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
