HUNTINGTON -- A number of health-conscious classes, programs and screenings are scheduled in the Tri-State this week. Some of the activities offered in the area:
Alzheimer's Disease Support Group, 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, resource room, 1340 Hal Greer Blvd., Huntington. Heart Failure Support Group, 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, King's Daughters Medical Center, 2201 Lexington Ave., Ashland. Discussion will center on the importance of organizing personal documents and information. Group is free and open to all people with heart failure, their families, caregivers and others. Man to Man: Prostate Cancer Support Group, Tuesday, May 14, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, 1000 Ashland Drive, Russell, Ky. Prostate cancer support group is facilitated by Andrew K. Wright.
Grandparenting Class, 6 p.m., Thursday, May 16, Cabell Huntington Hospital, 1340 Hal Greer Blvd., Huntington. Class for soon-to-be grandparents who would like a refresher course in caring for a baby. Brain Boot Camp: Fortifying Your Brain, 6 p.m., Monday, May 20, St. Mary's Regional Heart Institute, room 212, 2900 1st Ave., Huntington. Dr. Carl F. McComas, neurologist, will serve as guest speaker. Free and open to the public. No registration necessary.
