Healthy classes, programs and screenings

HUNTINGTON -- A number of health-conscious classes, programs and screenings are scheduled in the Tri-State this week. Some of the activities offered in the area:

Sibling Class, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, Cabell Huntington Hospital, 1340 Hal Greer Blvd., Huntington. Future big brothers and sisters learn to help care for the baby. Call 304-526-BABY for more information.

CAN-CERvive Support Group, 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, St. Mary's Regional Heart Institute, Room 205, 2900 1st Ave., Huntington. For more information, call 304-526-1372.

Vascular Screening, Wednesday, Sept. 4, St. Mary's Regional Heart Institute, Vascular Lab, 2900 1st Ave., Huntington. Cost is $45 for each test or $99 for all three tests, including peripheral vascular disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm and carotid artery. Cash or check only. Healthy Heart with EKG Screening, 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, Kentucky Heart Institute, Medical Plaza B, 613 23rd St., Suite 230, Ashland. Screening consists of total cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, blood oxygen and EKG. Screening is free, but appointments are required by calling 888-377-KDMC.
