Health classes, programs set to be offered

HUNTINGTON -- A number of health-conscious classes, programs and screenings are scheduled in the Tri-State this week. Some of the activities offered in the area:

Sibling Class, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, Cabell Huntington Hospital, 1340 Hal Greer Blvd., Huntington. Future big brothers and sisters learn to help care for the new baby. Call 304-526-BABY to register.

Mobile Mammograms -- Ironton, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, Rock Hill High School, Ironton. Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital's Mobile Mammography Unit will offer screening mammograms. Call 606-836-PINK for details.

Cancer Support Group, 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cabell Huntington Hospital, 1340 Hal Greer Blvd., Huntington. For people with any type of cancer and their loved ones. Call 304-526-2443 for more information.

Health Screenings, 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, Seventh Avenue Baptist Church, 240 7th Ave. West. HIMG will offer screenings including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and oxygen levels.

Healthy Cooking Demo, 1 p.m., Tower FoodFair, U.S. 60 East, Barboursville. Ciao Bella Cooking in conjunction with Health Living Services at St. Mary's Medical Center will present the demo. The featured recipe will be pesto, toasted pine nut and mozzarella panini with garden tomato and onion salad. Free samples will be offered.
