Get Healthy Tri-State: Birthing class among local clinics, events

HUNTINGTON -- From health screenings to education, a number of health conscious events are scheduled in the Tri-State this week.

Upcoming events include:

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital celebrates World COPD Day by offering free lung function tests at Ashland Town Center, 606-833-2273.

1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, HIMG hosts a free community educational program on insulin pumps at HIMG, 304-399-2367.

11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, American Red Cross blood drive at Trinity United Methodist Church, 615 Viand St., Point Pleasant.

2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, holiday grief support group meets at King's Daughters Medical Center's health education center, 888-377-5362.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital's mobile health center will be at Bellefonte Primary Care in South Shore, Ky., on U.S. 23.

6 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 23, Cabell Huntington Hospital hosts a childbirth class for parents-to-be, there is a small fee, pre-registration required, participants attend a series of five classes, 304-526-BABY.

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, Tai-Chi at St. Mary's Medical Center's wellness center, $2 per class, 304-526-6670.
