Development center to host art auction
HUNTINGTON -- River Valley Child Development Services is hosting its annual children's art auction Friday, Nov. 6, in hopes of raising money for their programs while allowing the children to express themselves.
"The art auction is something we thought would be very special because it showcases art children from our community produce," said Suzi Brodof, executive director of River Valley Child Development Services.
Established in 1971, River Valley Child Development Services' mission is to be a leader in providing high quality early childhood care and education services for children, families and communities. The art auction is an event to help raise money so these centers can remain in operation.
The auction will feature pieces from children at the Norma Gray Early Learning Center and Enterprise Child Development as well as students at the School Age Connections at Meadows, South Side and Cox Landing elementary schools.
A variety of art will be up for auction such as finger paint, easel, paper tearing, tin work, murals, drawings and footprints.
The auction will be held at the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tim Irr of WSAZ NewsChannel 3 will be the auctioneer.
