Students drop eggs from third story of school
HUNTINGTON -- For the past 20 years, John Hanna has seen some rather interesting ways to keep eggs from breaking after a three-story fall.
The tradition continued on Monday at Southside Elementary where 38 eggs were dropped from the school's roof. To his surprise, 25 eggs survived the fall, maybe the most Hanna has ever seen.
Monday also brought one of the most creative ways to keep an egg safe. Hanna said one student packed the egg into a jar of peanut butter, which exploded upon impact.
"The jar burst and peanut butter went everywhere," Hanna said. "But the egg survived.
