CHARLESTON -- Cabell Midland High School's RAZE Crew took home two regional awards and one statewide award at the West Virginia State RAZE Conference June 15-17 at the University of Charleston.
Cabell Midland has the most commotions, or creative ways to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco, for which they were honored.
Other accomplishments by the RAZE Crew include Morgan McMicken, participated in "Why?" campaign commercials in August; Crew selected to represent RAZE at state cross-country meet and state wrestling tournament; Crew selected to represent RESA II at Tobacco-Free Day in Charleston; Crew leaders Beau Evans and Matt Hicks selected to West Virginia SADD student leadership council, and will be among West Virginia's delegation going to the National SADD Conference in Phoenix, Ariz.; adviser Kim Young selected as RESA II outstanding adviser for 2007-08 school year; selected to receive $2,000 grant from Erie Insurance's Lookin' Out safe-driving campaign; and more than 3,100 hours of community service performed by 20 members.
