Huntington High band bids adieu to outgoing seniors

HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington High School concert band, dance team and jazz ensemble said good-bye to its seniors Thursday night with its spring concert.

Band director Melissa Ash is only losing seven to graduation this year, alleviating some of the sting, but she said it's always a range of emotions when good students move on.

"We try to make (the concert) an enjoyable experience for the students and for the audience," Ash said. "We want it to be special for the seniors."

She said they put together a video tribute to graduating seniors, and the band played one of their favorite songs from this year, "Majestia."

On Friday, the orchestra and guitar players gave a last concert at 7 p.m.
