CHOIR: The Huntington High School Illusions Show Choir is presenting its holiday show to a variety of audiences all around the county.
At 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec.3, the students will perform at the Baboursville Veterans Home, followed by a 1 p.m. performance on Saturday, Dec. 5, at Lavalette United Methodist Church.
At 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, the show choir will perform at St. Mary's Hospital, followed by a private company party at the Pullman Plaza Hotel on Thursday, Dec. 10.
A performance at the school is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15. The students also are booked for two shows on Thursday, Dec. 15: 10 a.m. at Wingate Retirement Home and 12:45 p.m. at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church.
SOUTH POINT: Mary Cogan, a member of the South Point Local School District Board of Education, attended the 54th annual Ohio School Boards Association Capital Conference and Trade Show, held Nov. 8-11, in Columbus.
Cogan attended sessions on maintaining facility investment, job descriptions and functions, armed intruder simulations in schools, superintendent evaluation systems, issues surrounding drug and alcohol testing for students and handling decisions in a recession.
