Fashion fundraiser returns to Paramount catwalk
ASHLAND -- The latest styles from Madison Avenue are coming to Winchester Avenue.
The Paramount Woman's Association will present the fashions of the French Shoppe at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Admission to the Coffee and Fashion Show, conducted onstage at the Paramount Arts Center, is $10. Shopping is open to the public with free admission from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.
"The pieces they bring in are really cutting edge, like the things you'd see in New York," said coordinator Sherry Pyles. The French Shoppe of Nashville has three stores in Tennessee, stocked with the newest fashions for the season and a full range of jewelry, shoes, scarves and purses.
The fashion extravaganza is a fundraiser for the Paramount Arts Center and has been a success in years past.
"The majority of the merchandise is brand new. The French Shoppe of Nashville keeps a few basics in stock," Pyles explained. "The ladies request that we continue doing the show because they bring in unique fashions at very reasonable prices."
Examples of pricing from previous years included $15 for scarves, $45 for jewelry sets and slacks for $25 to $35. Models in varying clothing sizes present the fashions, and representatives from The French Shoppe give instruction on how to incorporate pieces into an existing wardrobe.
Door prizes are awarded throughout the event.
