The Cabell County Board of Education voted this afternoon to offer Marshall University $1.8 million for the University Heights Apartments property. The vote came hours after a public hearing held in the Alumni Lounge in the Memorial Student Center, where Superintendent William Smith, Prestera Center executive director Bob Hansen and many Prestera clients and supporters spoke.

BARBOURSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: The Barboursville High School Class of 1983 will have their 25th reunion Friday-Sunday, Aug. 1-3, at various locations around town. On Friday, a "Meet and Greet" begins from 6-9 p.m. at Logan's Roadhouse adjacent to the Huntington Mall. A room behind the bar has been reserved. Each classmate is responsible for his/her food and drinks. The main event begins from 7 p.m.-midnight Saturday at the American Legion in Barboursville, with finger foods (catered by AJ's), cash bar and a disc jockey playing your favorite tunes. The menu includes stuffed croissant sandwiches, cocktail meatballs, chicken fingers, fruit and cheese display, spinach and artichoke dip and chips with homemade salsa. Dress is casual. Cost is $20 per person. Party for classmates and their families will begin from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, at the YMCA Kennedy Center (formerly Glenbrier) on Ohio River Road, with a playground and other facilities for our use. A room beside the pool has been reserved. Stewart's hot dogs, chips and root beer will be served. Alcohol is not permitted on the premises. Cost is $10 for adults and children 12 and over, $6 for children under 12 and no charge for children under 4.
