Huntington Outdoor Theater conducts auditions for pre-show talent
HUNTINGTON -- Huntington Outdoor Theatre is looking for the Tri-State's best talent to warm up the stage for its musicals that run July 11-13, 18-20 and 25-27 in Ritter Park.
The chiIdren's pre-show is at 7 p.m. each day for half an hour. The other pre-show that features adults runs from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. before the main show.
Auditions for those pre-show slots are 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, and Friday, June 27, and 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 28.
The auditions will be held at the Elite Performance Academy, 819 10th Ave., across from the old Huntington High School.
Be performance ready. Have music available.
Jennifer Plyburn, who is doing publicity for HOT, said the group is looking for anything as long as its family-friendly.
"I was just watching 'America's Got Talent' and that is what this is: a Tri-State's got talent show," Plyburn said. "Anybody in the community is welcome -- singers, dancers, comedians, instruments, jugglers."
Plyburn said having 12 different nights of performances really gives people in the community a great opportunity to showcase their talents and gives the audiences a taste of the wide array of talent in the area.
"I always love the quality of the pre-show," Plyburn said. "I've talked to people who have never been to the pre-show, and I'm like 'You've got to get there an hour early and see the pre-show.' Bring a picnic and get double for your money by seeing those performances."
