Park to host patriotic tribute
RUSH, Ky. -- Princess Chapel Park doesn't go small with patriotism.
The park will be hosting a special flag ceremony at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, hoisting up a specially made, 60-foot-by-30-foot American flag.
Clell Lucas, pastor of Princess Chapel and the emcee for the event, said they're inviting the public, and all area school children to come out for the patriotic ceremony that will include area veterans, Boy Scouts as well as the color guard from the Amvets in Huntington.
Lucas said the flag was bought and donated to the community park by Big Run Landfill. A representative from the flag maker, Walker Flags, out of Louisville, Ky., will be on hand for the ceremony.
Everyone is invited to the free event.
Princess Chapel Park is located in Rush, Ky., 12 miles west of Ashland on U.S. 60 and Route 5.
For more information about the event, call Lucas at 606-474-0515 or 606-923-8381.
