Renaissance Gallery preparing for art-filled 2009

HUNTINGTON -- The Renaissance Art Gallery and School of Fine Arts is dedicated to bringing the finest in local artwork to the people of the Tri-State.

The schedule for the winter/spring season for the gallery is as follows:

December through January 2009 -- "Winter Carnival!" Artwork celebrating winter in the Tri-State area and around the globe is now hanging. Featuring gallery artists, paintings, photography and other visual arts.

February 2009 through March 2009 -- "The Human Condition." Artwork centered on human actions and interactions. Gallery artists explore what it is to be human in today's society.

April 2009 -- "Window & Doors -- Opportunity is knocking, open the door!"

Second Annual National Spring Fine Arts Exhibition. In what is now becoming a tradition, all adult artists in the area are being invited to submit their finest artwork to illustrate and explore this subject. Artists interested in participating can request a prospectus by sending an SASE to the gallery or e-mail gallerywv@yahoo.com. The prospectus is also available on the gallery Web site at www.orgsites.com/wv/renaissance.

The Renaissance Art Gallery and Fine Arts School is located in the old Huntington High School, now the Renaissance Building, 900 8th St., Huntington, Suite #20 (ground floor).

Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Special showing is available by appointment. Call 304-453-3187. The gallery is also open during all class times.
