BOY: He's grown into a handsome, intelligent young man. I knew Erick J. Willis as a boy growing up, and he has made many proud with his accomplishments of completing medical school and becoming a physician specializing in pediatrics. Dr. Willis is in practice with James Liesen, D.O., and recently joined St. Mary's Medical Center staff.
BABE: Congratulations to Josh and Julie Caldwell on the birth of their new family addition -- Anna Ellesyn. Elle, born June 15, weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces. She is the baby sister to Payton; granddaughter to Debbie Jain and great-granddaughter to Anna Waugh.
MEMORIES: As I was reading a family picnic announcement for the Martin family of Lincoln County, it brought back memories of one precious lady, Garnett Martin, whom I loved as an individual as well as my English teacher when I attended Pleasant View Elementary School. I credit her today with helping me lay the foundation for my "writing" career. Today, I recall corrections she made on my plural possessives and notes of encouragement and satisfaction for my learning that she scribbled on my papers.
DEAN'S LIST: Ryan Thompson was named to the dean's list for the spring term at Centre College in Danville, Ky. Ryan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thompson of Huntington.
