Marshall University plays its spring Green-White game on April 25, 1987, at Fairfield Stadium. The 1987 team would go on to have a 10-5 record under coach George Chaump and become the NCAA I-AA national runner-up, after losing to Louisiana-Monroe, 42-43. Team captains were Cecil Fletcher and Keith Baxter.
