The Butler Furniture building was in the 400 block of 20th Street. It was demolished in 2001 and turned in to extra parking for the Joan C. Edwards Stadium at Marshall University.

Ensign Electric and Manufacturing Co. was founded in 1938 by Darwin A. Ensign and Charles C. Armstrong. The company, at 914 Adams Ave., made electrical equipment for coal mines and distributed motor driven pumping units (thanks to James E. Casto for the information). It was sold in 1968 to Harvey Hubbell Inc., which closed the plant in 1983. Darwin A. Ensign died March 24, 1985.

Tradewell Supermarket at 911 8th St., across from the former Huntington High School. To the left is Brown's South Side Fountain, a popular hangout for high school students. Thanks to James E. Casto for the information. The car in front of the Tradewell is a 1954 Buick Century, parked behind a 1954 Mercury and in front of a 1949 or 1950 Chevrolet, according to Sam Januszkiewicz.

The Le John Manufacturing Co. at was established at 111 22nd St. in Huntington in 1946 by S.S. Politano, who graduated from Marshall College in 1935. The company began by making small electric fans.
