Gallery: Do you remember? -- Marshall vs. Morehead, 1976

Marshall University (white jerseys) played Morehead State (dark jerseys) on Sept. 4, 1976, at Morehead. Morehead won the game, 31-14. However, Morehead had used an ineligible player and later forfeited the game. The 1976 team had a 5-6 record under coach Frank Ellwood. Team captains were John "Fuzzy" Filliez and Billy Yanossy.

Marshall University (dark jerseys) beat Youngstown State (white jerseys) 31-28 in the 1-AA National Championship game at Joan C. Edwards Stadium on Dec. 19, 1992. The 1992 team had a 12-3 record under coach Jim Donnan. Team captains were Mike Bartrum, Jim Durning, Bob Lane, Bryan Litton, Michael Payton, Phil Ratliff and Donahue Stephenson.
